etiquette / good manner at shrine

I'd like to introduce etiquette at shrine.

Wash your hands

When you arrive shrine, you should wash your hands. All shrine has a place for washing hands like a picture.
1. To draw water from pool using ladle made by wood/bamboo
2. Wash your bouth hands
3. After washing hands, wash the handle of used ladle. It is not need to scrbe , just splash water.

 

Walk on the side

 

Main street from gate (Torii) to shrine is for gods. so you should stay on the sidewalk.

 

 

 

 

 How to bow

You should bow at the front of shrine, becaouse Gods adress at there. The way of bowing is deffrente temple and shrine. At the shrine;
1. Give a small offering
2. Ring the bell
3. Bow two times, clap two times, bow one time

 

 

 

Draw your fortune

You can try to draw your fortune. If you get good luck(大吉 Daikichi), you may to take it. If you get bad luck, you should leave it like the picture.

Soba

I would like to introduce about Japanese traditional food Soba noodle.
You can eat it whatever way or manner but there is the best way for deliciously.

1. You should eat cold Soba named Zarusoba.
2. Wasabi should be put on Soba. Not dissolve into Dashi (black liquid).
3. Make a sound and slurp Soba.

No3 is the most important. In the almost all world country, we should not make noisy during the meals. Japanese cuisine is same except Soba noodle.
